feed your faith

Apostle NKURUNZIZA François

Joshua 24:1-33; “Then Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem and called for the elders of Israel, for their heads, for their judges, and for their officers; and they presented themselves before God…I have given you a land for which you did not labor, and cities which you did not build, and you dwell in them; you eat of the vineyards and olive groves which you did not plant…And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...”

In the whole 24th chapter of the book of Joshua, he was reminding the people of Israel the goodness of God, how God protected them, His good hand for fourty years in the wilderness, how they enjoyed the harvest of what they didn’t labor for and having lived in the houses they didn’t build.

Israel was seeming to have forgotten all of God’s goodness, and they were serving other gods. Here now Joshua is setting a choice before them, whether they will serve the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob or other gods.

Today, if you can look back in your life, if you consider your history and your background you will witness the hand of God and His goodness upon your life.

Mind you, having possessed whatever you possess today, it is not because of your smartness, not because you are intelligent than others. But it is only God who kept you alive and Who granted you the health and strength to work for whatever you currently claim to own.

Never deceive yourself, you are not wiser, smarter or more careful than those of your generation who didn’t make it as you did, many are dead others are living in misery.

The Lord God took you from ashes and lifted you up, whether we acknowledge it or not, each one of us has seen the hand of God upon their life. And whatever we may have achieved, was not because we are greater than others.

We are enormously indebted to that God, He deserves to be served. God’s mercies have always been with us, whether we know it or not, it is in our interest to serve Him and the least we can do for Him, if we can recognize His goodness upon us!

Give value to the remainder of your days by serving the Lord. Serving Him is the greatest privilege you will ever have.
