Communauté des Eglises Bethel au Rwanda (C.E.B.R) or Community of Bethel Churches in Rwanda founded by Apostle François NKURUNZIZA and his wife Bishop Thérèse Umugiraneza, the 1st of February 1998. Recognized by the Rwandan Government under Ministerial Decree No 29/11 of 23rd April 2004, J.O of 1st June 2004, C.E.B.R is a member of Alliance of Evangelical Churches in Rwanda and a member of Rwanda Bible Society since February 2011.
Apostle François Nkurunziza, in1995 founded MIRNE Ministries- (Mission Internationale pour la Restauration des Nations par l’Evangile i.e. International Mission for the Restoration of Nations by the Gospel), under which, he had been conducting evangelical open air-crusades, seminars on unity and reconciliation, deliverance and healing services. Through the above crusades and seminars, many people got saved, lives were being transformed, hence a need of establishing a sustainable manner of nurturing and following up the flock that was increasing but without a herd. Thereafter, February, 1st 1998, led by the Holy Spirit, Apostle François Nkurunziza and Bishop Thérèse Umugiraneza founded Bethel Church, Remera.
However, central to the growth and expansion of the Church has been the continual emphasis on prayer, which is attended by members of the Church devoted to boldly calling on the Lord for needs in the Country and around the World. Bethel has given birth to other seven churches which form Communauté des Eglises Bethel au Rwanda or Community of Bethel Churches in Rwanda abbreviated as C.E.B.R. The Churches are spread around different parts of the Country. Precisely, these are:
Initially, the church was meeting in a humble basement located in Remera - one of Kigali’s suburbs. Whatsoever, the continuous growth of the church led to the need of a larger place for worship. 2002, the Lord convinced Apostle François to leave the basement, however with neither resources nor financial support, as God had promised to will always be a provider, indeed He has been faithful. With obedience and Faith, the church shifted from the basement and moved to a vacant automobile garage which would become Bethel’s permanent home as promised, indeed God provided the Rehoboth to his church. Today, the church property seats on 51.75 acres in Remera, Gasabo District, Kigali City at KG109ST. However, eventually, the mother church had produced various Bethel church quarters inside and outside Rwanda.
